The district heating grid crossed twelve streets in the centre of Utrecht. Every bore was short, but every one of them had to be drilled between eight in the evening and seven in the morning, in a lane three metres wide.
Everything on one trailer
We built the site kit around a 10 ft container: two mobile lighting towers, a RodGrip Pro for the drill rods and a compact mixing unit that fits on the same trailer. Setting up took 40 minutes, breaking down 25.
Result
Twelve bores in fourteen nights, no complaints from residents about light or noise, and a crew that handled 1,200 drill rods without lifting one by hand.
