The ground profile along the bore was anything but stable: sand at the entry, stiff clay in the middle and a cobble layer near the exit. Every section needed a different fluid mix and a different level of filtering.

Filtering that adapts

We supplied a recycling unit with stackable 6 inch filter skids. The crew added or removed a skid depending on the return flow, without stopping the pumps. A pressure gauge on every skid showed when a filter needed cleaning.

Result

900 metres in eight days, with 65 percent of the fluid recycled and no disposal trips during the clay section.
